As a former president of the New York Public Library, Gregorian is credited with revitalizing one of the nation's most significant institutions. During his tenure, Gregorian rejuvenated the library's materials and collections and is widely recognized as restoring the NYPL as a symbol of civic pride. During eight years as president of Brown University, Gregorian attracted enthusiastic support from both alumni and students. Gregorian directed the largest fund-raising Campaign in Brown and Rhode Island history, Brown University's campaign for the Rising Generation. He has also held posts as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and provost at the University of Pennsylvania. Today, as president for the Carnegie Corporation, Gregorian's focus is identifying and addressing critical social issues, such as education and international peace.
