Synopsis

This book is a diplomatic history of relations between the US and Cambodia from the first American contacts with Cambodian in the late nineteenth Century, through the Vietnam War and US invasion, to Clinton's visit there in the late 1990s. Based upon detailed archival research, this is the most comprehensive account of the United States' troubled relationship with Cambodia and will be of enormous interest to scholars in Southeast Asia, US diplomatic history and US foreign policy.
