VICTORY over bottom club Treorchy tonight will take Pontypool back to the top of Division One.

Pooler are unbeaten at home all season and last Tuesday Mark Jones and his men ran in 15 tries against Glamorgan Wanderers, including an individual try-scoring record of six from wing Lennie Woodard.

For fly-half Byron Hayward it was also a record-breaking night as he broke Stuart Harries' first division points scoring record, taking his tally to 416 for the season.

``Obviously, we'll still go up to the Premier Division if we come second, but we want to be No 1,'' said Pontypool team manager Tony Clarke.

``I've spoken to Chris O'Callaghan at Aberavon and he feels exactly the same way.

``We have got three games coming up now in the next week, so it gives us a chance to steal a march on the Wizards before we play them.''

Carmarthen Quins are aiming for their third win in seven days at Llanharan, who have lost their last two home matches. …
