Reconstruction race gathers pace
The race to win reconstruction contracts has intensified, with a strong UK bid for greater involvement. UK companies have expressed fears of exclusion from post-war reconstruction projects because of the dominant role already established by US firms providing consultancy services to the government-in-exile. The UK bid receiving full official backing and has been promoted directly to the Prime Minister, Crown Prince Shaikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Salem al-Sabah in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
