Many students are expected to ring the University of Teesside's helplines after receiving their A-level results tomorrow to confirm their place at university.
Known as Confirmation and Clearing, and lasting until mid-September, the aim is to match potential students to courses which still have vacancies. It has also become increasingly popular with people making late applications to university.
The helplines swing into action from tomorrow to Wednesday August 20.
