DOZENS of people contributed to a living social history of the city over the weekend.
Families from the Paradise area were invited to bring pictures and other memorabilia to the Coventry Peace House in Stoney Stanton Road as part of an ongoing history project.
They took photographs of the area, researched its history through books, videos and pictures and prepared and presented poetry, art, drama and stories to each other, which will contribute to the final history project.
The Peace House - a community building which works towards peace - hopes the project will encompass the community's recollections of life in the area and also record the way in which the city has changed over the past century.
Penny Walker, from Coventry Peace House, said: "This is a fun way for people to learn from each other about what life has been like in this area over the past hundred years and what changes have taken place.
"We are particularly interested in this because the Peace House is next to Ordnance Road which, at the beginning of the century, was part of the entrance to a huge weapons factory. …
