HUNDREDS of jobs with some of the country's best known employers will be up for grabs tomorrow at the Jobcentre Plus West Lothian Jobsfair.
More than 40 employers and training providers including Sky, Asda, Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Marks & Spencer and Lothian & Borders Police have signed up for the fair.
The event will take place at West Lothian College, Almondvale Crescent in Livingston between 10am and 4pm on Friday.
It will offer something for everyone school leavers, students, people wanting to change jobs and people keen to get back into the labour market from a diverse range of industries.
The Armed Forces will be there, as will a number of organisations from the care and health sector.
Rhondda Salmond, Jobcentre Plus childcare partnership manager for Edinburgh Lothian and Borders, will be at the event to offer advice and information on a career in this rewarding sector.
She will also be able to provide tailored support for jobseekers looking to overcome barriers such as accessing childcare.
Rhondda said: 'There are a variety of options that Jobcentre Plus can tailor to meet the needs of jobseekers.
'One of these is New Deal for Lone Parents, which provides support and advice for lone parents looking to return to work, education or training.
'We can discuss how benefits are affected, explain how to claim tax credits and help with childcare costs.
'We also have personal advisers to support and help lone parents regain their confidence where they have been out of the workplace for several years.
'New Deal for Lone Parents covers all these issues, paying particular attention to financial incentives to ease the transition back to work.'
Training providers will also be supporting the jobsfair. …
