For the first time proud family and friends can now watch graduation ceremonies live over the web. Cardiff University graduates will have their big day screened live over the internet next week at www.cf.ac.uk/graduation 2004/welcome
Between Monday and Wednesday eight ceremonies will be held with a total of 4,050 students graduating and around 9,000 guests are expected to attend.
But the web facility is likely to be particularly popular with those who cannot travel to Cardiff, including families of international students.
Viewers can also see personalities from the worlds of journalism, public service, religion, the environment, academia, business and law who will be honoured by Cardiff University.
Honorary Fellowships are to be given to journalist, broadcaster and former BBC chief news correspondent Kate Adie; director general of the Confederation of British Industry, Digby Jones; chief executive of the Guardian Media Group and former deputy director general of the BBC, Sir Robert Phillis and co-founder and programme director of the environmental charity Forum for the Future, Jonathon Porritt. …
