How important is a tourism industry to Saudi Arabia and how much progress is being made on its development? This is really an economic initiative for the country and my main duty is to create jobs. And tourism is a major job creator. But it is also an industry that brings perspective to a lot of national ethics and basically highlights the power these ethics have. To give an indication [of progress], the strategic masterplan, which was approved by the Council of Ministers a few months ago, was the 16th report and summarised 15 other reports, each of which discussed different {aspects, such as} human resources development, social aspects of tourism, standards and environmental and cultural issues.
