GLITZY showbiz wrestling featuring big-name grapplers will return to Coventry next month.
Top stars from America and Britain will take to the ring at the Coventry Skydome Arena on Saturday, November 13.
Among the star line-up will be local lad Darren Walsh, the son of wrestler- turned-businessman Tony "Banger" Walsh.
Man-mountain Darren, 29, who runs a Cubbington-based security firm, will be one of the performers at the show, named British Uprising 3.
The father-of-two said: "I can't wait.
"I have travelled all this year and performed in front of massive audiences but when you work in front of your own fans it is a completely different atmosphere."
His dad Banger, who took to the ring with legends such as Big Daddy during 24 years of wrestling for ITV's World of Sport programme, will also make an appearance as a guest ringside announcer at the Coventry event.
Banger said: "I get a wonderful reception when I return to wrestling venues.
"I was a villain and the mere appearance of me in a hall would cause mayhem because they wanted to lynch me. I find it wonderful that people remember."
Thousands of people are expected to pack out the Skydome Arena for the extravaganza, organised by the Frontier Wrestling Alliance.
Ironically, the glitzy bash will take place only yards from the site of the demolished Drill Hall, the home of Saturday afternoon wrestling.
Phil Barker, a spokesman for the FWA, said the show was a result of an increase in the popularity of UK wrestling.
He said: "Mixing the American style of wrestling seen in the WWE with top UK talent, we have discovered a winning formula and we will also be bringing in some of the biggest names from America to be part of this event. …
