Golf course will stretch along Eyre Highway from Kalgoorlie to CedunaGOLF lovers in Australia are giving a whole new meaning to the expression 'hitting a long drive'.
They are setting up the world's longest course - and it's as long as Britain.
Nullarbor Links spans 850miles and two time zones across some of Australia's harshest terrain.
Set in semi-desert, hazards include venomous snakes and sand storms instead of ponds and sand traps.
Alf Caputo, of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Tourist Association, said: 'It's not going to be St Andrews by any stretch of the imagination but it's going to be completely unique.'
Golfers will tee-off in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, and play holes at roadhouses on the way to the 18th green in Ceduna, South Australia.
The par-69 course will be as long as the distance from Land's End to John O' Groats.
Kalgoorlie roadhouse boss Bob Bongiorno came up with the idea when he couldn't find a decent course. …
