Priests at area Catholic parishes are speaking to their congregations this weekend about the death of the pope. Here is a sampling of what some religious leaders will be saying:
"The death of John Paul II is certainly a solemn moment in the lives of all of the world. I believe the outreach of his ministry certainly has affected the world. He was a true inspiration to all people of goodwill and peace. He truly was a champion of human freedom. The extent of his ministry continues even beyond his death into the free world. His papacy reached the Berlin Wall and brought freedom to that part of the world. His last days, in the midst of his own physical difficulty, will continue to provide a challenge for all the world to provide true dignity for every person on the face of the earth, from womb to tomb. He will be greatly missed - his smile, his hospitality, his warmth, his genuineness and his love of the youth of the world."
