FOR Athanasios Koukoulis it's a case of 'have boots, will travel'.
The towering Greek defender had never been out of his country until earlier this week when he flew to Scotland to prove he's worth a chance with one of our clubs.
Speaking through his friend and interpreter Antonis Pratas, the 19-year-old from Athens is convinced he has what it takes to make his mark.
He said: 'I have been playing semi-professional football back home in the B Division and was invited to Olympiakos and Panathinaikos for trials but I wanted to try a new country.
'After the success of Soti Kyrgiakos at Rangers it made me determined to fly to Scotland and attempt to follow in his footsteps.
'We both come from the same city and are similar players so I felt that anything he can do, I can do better.
'I am not going back home until I find a club and prove myself in the Scottish game. That's the plan.
'My coach at my last club, AOK, has said I have more potential than Kyrgiakos had at my age so hopefully the money I paid for the flight will be well spent.
