DUNDEE'S new boss Alan Kernaghan has told the Dens Park players they can expect a management style based on Bruce Rioch and Lenny Lawrence, spiced up with a splash of Jack Charlton.
Kernaghan, appointed as Jim Duffy's replacement last Friday, reckons he has worked with at least 15 managers in his long playing career - but it is the influence of this famous trio which made the most impact.
He played under former Scotland captain Rioch and also Lawrence during his seven years at Middlesbrough, and he was one of Charlton's Republic of Ireland squad at the 1994 World Cup in America.
The 26-times capped defender said: 'I had a chat with the players and gave them an idea of the way I like to work. I'm pleased to say they were very receptive. I think I've worked with around 15 managers in my time and it's true you take a little bit from each of them.
'The three most influential were probably Bruce, Lenny and Jack. Bruce was very disciplined and knew exactly what style of football he wanted to play, while Lenny was more concerned with players having confidence.
