A london stockbroker who is a Welsh landowner - today claims to be a direct descendent of King Arthur. Robert Morgan Williams, who inherited the Aberpergwm estate in the Neath Valley in 1992, can trace his family lineage to the Welsh king that historians Chris Barber and David Pykitt claim is the rightful Arthur.

Mr Williams, 42, is a descendent of Iestyn ap Gwrgan - the last prince of Glamorgan - who Barber and Pykitt say is himself a descendent of Arthur, or Athrwys (Arthur), the King of Gwent.

Their new book, The Legacy of King Arthur, took 20 years of research and it is hoped it will bring a conclusion to the debate …
