Wedding bells rang out for Diane Smith and Garry Wood on September 25.
The couple met six years ago when Diane, who owns G W Horner's public House on Front Street, in Chester-le-Street, bumped into him while he was working on the door at the Red Lion ( just two doors away.
And, after five years, they were finally engaged in the September of 2004.
Diane, 33, and Garry, 30, a traffic safety manager, who now live in Chester-Le-Street, married at St Mary and St Cuthbert's Church, Chester-Le-Street, in September, so they would be out of the traditional wedding season.
Diane said: "There were about 100 guests there for the daytime do and I think there was 210 in total for the night.
"Everyone had a great time and it is something that I will never forget. Since the wedding, life has just been amazing. It was definitely the best day of my life.
"I have heard that people's wedding days are sometimes stressful, so I was surprised at just how smoothly the whole day went. …
