The massacre in the Czech town of Lidice at the beginning of World War II is just one of the historical stamp exhibits featured in this weekend's Chicagopex, considered to be the World Series of stamp shows.
More than 75 dealers and 300 stamp exhibits will be on display during the weekend show and competition, with half of them provided by the German Philatelic Society, invited as special guests.
Exhibits will run the gamut, from the children's area featuring new collections of butterflies, flowers, birds and even Disney characters to stamps and postcards from Hawaii, and aviation, to name a few.
