WIRRAL: Wirral's teenagers will soon get the chance to bid for a share of hundreds of thousands of pounds to pay for projects and eguipment to improve their lives.

A total of pounds 377,513 is available from the Youth Capital Fund and the Youth Opportunity Fund this year in the borough.

Application forms are available from next Monday, April 2. Wirral's grant panel of young people aged 13-19 will decide which projects are successful.

WEST KIRBY: West Kirby Light Opera Society is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for North West Cancer Research Fund by putting on a night of songs.

The society will stage In The Spotlight at Westbourne Hall, Westbourne Road, on Thursday, April 26. Doors open at 7pm.

WIRRAL: An art exhibition by Wirral Met students will be on display at Birkenhead's Pacific Road theatre until April 5.

WIRRAL: A crackdown on children playing truant has stopped 67 children in four days.

Council and police officers stopped the children between March 5 and March 23.

Pupils who were found to be truanting were returned to school and non-attendance forms completed. …
