Four people are running for three, 4-year terms as Glen Ellyn village trustees. The candidates are Todd Buckton, Jim Comerford, Pete Ladesic and Michelle Thorsell. None are incumbents. The Daily Herald posed questions to the candidates. These are their edited responses.

Q. Why are you running for this office, whether for re-election or election the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and, if so, what? What will be your main priority?

Buckton. Glen Ellyn has given much to me and my family. I want to serve as trustee to give back to the village. I am interested in continuing the strong tradition of volunteerism that is the backbone of Glen Ellyn.

Comerford. My wife, who grew up in Glen Ellyn, and I have lived here for 18 years and have taken advantage of all the wonderful things in life that Glen Ellyn has to offer: schools, a great library, parks and park district activities, shopping, restaurants, etc.

Prior volunteers working with the professional village staff have made Glen Ellyn what it is today. I believe I have the background, skills and leadership ability to keep this tradition alive for future Glen …
