JAGUAR engineer Edward Price looked online for a step-by-step guide to delivering a baby... and it was lucky he did.
Because when his wife Carmen went into labour at their Warwick home, their baby daughter arrived so quickly that's exactly what he had to do.
Edward delivered Daisy himself - within 30 minutes of being woken up by Carmen, aged 32.
The couple had arranged for a second home birth through independent midwives, Diane Menage and Jan Haynes.
But when Edward rang the two midwives at 1.45am on Tuesday, November 13, Diane was already at another home birth while Jan Haynes had to drive over from Daventry.
Edward, aged 30, who works for Jaguar in Whitley, Coventry, said: "It made sense to have a second home birth. Jasmine, our 19-month-old daughter, was born unusually fast - within two hours and without pain relief.
"Our midwife said it is normal for the second and third birth to be even faster.
"She said that considering how quickly Jasmine was born I might want to look up how to deliver a baby myself on the internet - just in case.
"I Googled a step-by-step guide on how to deliver your own baby on the website Wikipedia.
"We live in Warwick town centre, just a few minutes from the hospital, so we felt reassured about a second home birth, particularly as the first one went well.
"On the night, Carmen woke me at 1.45am. I had been watching TV until late and had not long fallen asleep. …
