BLACKPOOL 2 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 1

WHEN Simon Grayson reflects on this season, he will no doubt raise a glass tothe efforts of Paul Dickov.

The 35-year-old striker was deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester Cityby Sven Goran Eriksson. But Grayson knew that the former Scotland striker stillhad some mileage in the tank and signed him on loan until the end of theseason. And after notching the winner against Wednesdaythe sixth goal of his Blackpool careerthe decision to sign him looks inspired.

However, the veteran forward is unsure whether he will return to BloomfieldRoad next season.

I dont know whats going on at the minute in terms of my contract, said Dickov.Ive been here and enjoyed my football.

Nothing has been spoken about in terms of whats going to happen, so I just wantto enjoy next week at Plymouth and score a goal and sort it out after that.

We have a hard game at Plymouth next week and regardless of what happens in theother games, we have to make sure that we get a result.

The fans here have been great to me. Its my last game here because I wont beable to play in the Watford game, so it was nice to finish off with a goal.

Blackpool are the third side Dickov has appeared for this season, so he is onlyable to play for them as an emergency loan.

This means he is only available for 93 days at most, and his loan periodfinishes the day before the clash with Watford.

The win takes Blackpool up to the lofty position of 16th with 53 points, whichshould be enough to keep them in the division. …
