STRONG LEADERSHIP AND GOOD DEEDS SHOULD NEVER GO UNNOTICED.
With this sentiment, Johnson Publishing Company President and CEO Linda Johnson Rice brought together 500 people to celebrate the achievements of 10 trailblazing Black women. At the ninth annual EBONY Outstanding Women in Marketing & Communications luncheon at New York's Cipriani 42nd Street, women who have made major strides as entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and media professionals were honored for their accomplishments.
Rice greeted guests and set the tone for the event. "We salute trailblazers who are noteworthy movers and shakers in the corporate world," she said. "These remarkable women have all taken risks, lead strong teams, raised the level of awareness for diversity, helped mentor young businesswomen and even found time in their extremely busy schedules to give back to their communities. This is why we celebrate them today."
She also expressed thanks to title sponsor TV One and to participating sponsors Luster Products, Alize, Ariel Investments and CoverGirl Queen Collection.
Among the presenters were Grammy Award-winning singer Patti LaBelle and author and commentator Michael Eric Dyson.
