Life after 'Sex'

Cynthia Nixon of Sex and the City has joined the cast of British commercial Web iTV's drama An Englishman in New York, a follow-up to the 1975 TV movie The Naked Civil Servant.

According to Daily Variety, the Emmy- and Tony-winning actress will play performance artist and playwright Penny Arcade in the film, while John Hurt will reprise his role as English eccentric Quentin Crisp. The film follows Mr. Crisp's early 1980s move to New York, where the gay writer and raconteur was embraced by celebrities and artists, including Penny Arcade. The two created the long-running performance/interview piece, The Last Will and Testament of Quentin Crisp.

Also joining the cast are Jonathan Tucker Veronica Must Die, "The Black Donnelly ), who stars as Mr. Crisp's American artist friend, Patrick Angus, and Swoosie Kurtz ( Pushing Daisies") as Mr. Crisp's agent, Connie Clausen.

The production is shooting in London and New York.

Henson joins 'Stone'

D.C. native Taraji P. Henson, who last season played Carl Sack's New York office colleague on Boston Legal, has been booked for a three-episode arc on Eli Stone, TVGuide.com reports.

The actress will be playing Angela, the daughter of Loretta Devine's Boston Public ) Patti.

Miss Henson's previous credits include The Division and the acclaimed films Talk to Me (2007) and the Oscar-winning Hustle & Flow (2005).

Back with a 'Bang'

After a well-received guest-starring stint last season, Sara Gilbert will return to The Big Bang Theory full time in the fall.

The former Roseanne star and two-time Emmy nominee has joined the CBS comedy as a regular cast member, Zap2it.com reports. Her casting continues a reunion with Johnny Galecki, who played her boyfriend-turned-husband on Roseanne in the 1990s.

Love will (sort of) be in the air on The Big Bang Theory as well. Miss Gilbert will continue her role as Leslie Winkle, a colleague, intellectual equal and on-and-off love interest for Leonard (Mr. Galecki), who's still figuring out how to act around women. …
