IN THE wake of growing gangland activity, the war on organised crime will be a top priority for An Garda Siochana next year, the forces commissioner has promised.

Fachtna Murphy also vowed to fight terrorism, road offences, public order and illegal immigration.

As Garda management launched its annual policing plan yesterday, Commissioner Murphy pledged that the war on organised crime will persevere, saying: We will continue to target those people who are committing crime at all levels, including organised crime and drug crime.
