Patricia Fernandez, the country's official representative to the 2008 Miss International pageant, was named as one of the semi-finalists in the beauty pageant held at the Venetian Hotel in Macau last November 8.
"I feel very fulfilled that I made it to the semi-finals, and it wouldn't be possible without the prayers of my countrymen. I already feel so blessed, and having the chance to represent the country is already a victory in itself,'' she said.
Miss Spain Alejandra Andreu was crowned as this year's Miss International. She also won the Miss Photogenic award.
Other representatives who made the cut include delegates from Ecuador, Japan, Lebanon, Puerto Rico, Turkey, Venezuela, Colombia, Poland, China, and Czech Republic.
Fernandez said that she made good friends with Miss Poland, her roommate, who was also named as the second runner-up. First runner-up was Miss Colombia Maria Cristina Diaz Granados.
