TACLOBAN CITY - The rehabilitation and repair of existing facilities of the MacArthur Park Beach Resort Hotel will need at least P700 million in order to upgrade its standards in catering to the needs of its targeted clients.
Leyte Governor Carlos Jericho Petilla said the landmark Mac Arthur Park Beach Resort Hotel in Palo, Leyte has recently been turned over to the provincial government by the Philippine Tourism Authority.
He said any interested party or private investor who would want to develop one of the biggest and spacious hotels in the province would need to come up with the P700 million.
This recent turnover of the resort management came as a surprise to the governor since it has been a while back when the provincial government started pushing for its transfer from the Philippine Tourism Authority.
After Executive Order 756 issued by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo came out ordering the transfer, a number of investors have contacted the governor and signified their interest to develop the place. …
