St. Francis of Assisi College looms as the favorite to reign in the newest regional basketball league in the country - the Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association (UCLAA) - which fires off Nov. 25 at the Makati Coliseum.
Having won six titles in its 17-year participation in its former league, host school SFAC, which has produced notable cage talents like brothers Yancy and Ranidel De Ocampo, is widely considered by nine other teams to be the front-runner in the newly-formed league which aims give schools from the different points of Luzon to be part of a recognized athletic association.
The nine other participating schools include Colegio De Sta. Monica in Las Pinas, De Ocampo Memorial College in Manila, Las Pinas College, Metro Manila College in Novaliches, National College of Business and Arts in Quezon City, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, Philippine College of Criminology and St. Jude College both from Manila and University of the Philippines-Los Banos.
