SIR Fred Goodwin walked away with an extra [pounds sterling]300,000 a year through either 'a nod and a wink' deal or 'sheer blundering incompetence' by the City minister, it was claimed yesterday.
The disgraced former RBS boss brokered a payoff with former colleagues which saw his pension almost double from [pounds sterling]416,000 to [pounds sterling]703,000 a year.
City minister Lord Myners was told of the size of the [pounds sterling]16million pension pot.
