JONATHAN Rhys Meyers will be back in Ireland to film the fourth series of The Tudors this summer.
US company Showtime has announced it has recommissioned the show and its star for a final season.
The third series of the drama is about to be screened on TV3 but filming will start here on Tudors IV in June.
But it will be the very last Tudors, bringing Jonathan's reign as Henry VIII to an end.
A Showtime spokesman said: "The final season will consist of 10 one-hour episodes.
"They will centre on Henry's tumultuous relationships with his last two wives, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr, and his final descent into madness." Filming in Ireland will start in June and season four will hit TV screens next spring.
Showtime president Robert Greenblatt praised the work of Meyers and scriptwriter Michael Hirst who will have written all 38 episodes of the show when it finishes. …
