BUDDING fashion designers from Kirkby and Great Broughton School took to the catwalk to showcase a range of clothing inspired by their recent history project.
Pupils from Years 5and 6 strutted their stuff as they showed off their designs, created as part of their 'Britain Since 1948' topic.
The audience of parents and other pupils were taken on a whirlwind trip through the decades as they met punks, hippies, and glam rock stars.
And the designs were all original with the youngsters all sewing and stitching their costumes themselves.
Ben Tyerman, 11, was one of the pupils showing off his designs.
"I've really enjoyed it," he said.
"We were able to make what we wanted which was good fun. We've learnt a lot too." While the pupils showed off their designs on the catwalk, the others showed off their dancing talents with some funky moves in the background.
And 10-year-old Amber Madden said she had loved learning about music through the decades. …
