The nation is celebrating today the 124th Birth Anniversary of Jose Abad Santos, the fifth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and one of the greatest heroes of World War II.Born on February 19, 1886, in San Fernando, Pampanga, Chief Justice Abad Santos who served the Supreme Court from December 24, 1941, to May 7, 1942, was the seventh of ten children of Vicente Abad Santos and the former Toribia Basco.He completed his elementary education in the public schools of Pampanga and was a high school undergraduate when he was sent by the Philippine government in 1904 on a scholarship to pursue his secondary education in Santa Clara, California, in the United States (US).
