Jack Morcos Memorial Golf Classic: Breaking Free will host the fourth annual Jack Morcos Memorial Golf Classic recognizing the humanitarian efforts of the late Jack Morcos, an Aurora-area businessman, family man, philanthropist and avid golfer. The Golf Classic is scheduled for a 1 p.m. shotgun start on Thursday, June 24 at the Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville.
This year's "Jack Morcos Helping Hands Award" honoree is Daniel D. Dolan Sr. in recognition of his lifelong commitment to the Aurora area and his tireless efforts to strengthen the community.
The Golf Classic Committee members are: Peter Bokos, Trudy Huberty, Nicole Jeannides, Michael Morcos, Stephen Morcos, Vicki Morcos, Myrna Smar, Bob Vaughan and Denny Wiggins. The Golf Classic is open to the public and sponsorship opportunities are available. A $150 registration fee and donation includes a boxed lunch, one round of golf, golf cart, silent auction and the award dinner. For nongolfers, a dinner-only option is available for $50.
Breaking Free, founded in 1977, provides prevention, treatment and education programs focused on alcohol and drug abuse, child abuse and mental health. Golf for Kids: Legendary PGA golfer Billy Casper will join local golfers on Monday, June 28 at Orchard Valley Golf Course in support of the 16th annual Golf for Kids Benefit Outing, a perennial fundraiser hosted by the Fox Valley Park District to aid deserving youth golfers.
Casper, who was nominated to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978, will sign autographed photos from 3 to 7 p.m. at Orchard Valley and "show the line" for golfers competing in a post-round putting contest.
The Golf for Kids Benefit Outing supports The First Tee of Aurora and Fox River Valley, which funds scholarships that provide golfing opportunities for area children.
Players may register individually or as a group. Registration fee is $175 per player and includes a tee gift (a golf wind shirt and Nike Club duffle bag with logo -- total value $120), green fees with cart for 18 holes, lunch and dinner at Orchards Restaurant, door prizes, raffle prizes and drink coupons. Company sponsorship packages and promotional opportunities -- beginning at $300 -- are available as well.

Golf outing and dinner auction: The Adult & Child Rehab Center will host its annual golf outing and dinner auction on Monday, July 26 at the Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock.
After kicking off the event with a chip-out contest, golfers will be treated to 18 holes of golf, a box lunch, fun and games on the course, a top sirloin dinner and silent and live auctions, hosted by Woodstock Mayor Brian Sager. A reverse raffle will also be a part of the festivities with a $4,000 grand prize. …
