THE 19th annual Dolphin Awards showcased why the Northern Rivers is renowned as a hotbed of music talent.
One Nightclub in Lismore was packed on Wednesday night with the cream of the region's musicindustry, which had come together to celebrate the achievements of the local scene over the past 12 months.
This year there were 336entrants in 22 categories, and winners included Louise Kahj for Song of the Year, Andrea Soler for World/Reggae and Hussy Hicks for Country.
However, it was Lennox Head band Marshall And The Fro who stole the limelight. The band went home with a virtual a[approximately]pod' of Dolphin Awards a winning in four categories, including Male Vocal, Blues, Protest and Pop.
"To win this many awards istotally unexpected, but it feels great to be recognised for all of the work we have been putting in," lead singer Marshall O'Kell said.
"It's important the industry on the North Coast has a night like this. …
