Peacock Ready to Rip in against Gladstone in Rep Game

CRICKET: Like most leg-spinners, nothing much fazes Justin Peacock.

But the Norths Tigers captain is ready to pounce for the Rockhampton open team in round two of the Central Queensland Championships this weekend.

Peacock will join Rockhampton's open, under-21 and over-40s representative teams hitting the road to Gladstone tomorrow.

The 22-year-old leggie received some special treatment in Rockhampton's opening-round seven-wicket win over the Central Highlands, finishing with 1-30 from his 2.1 overs.

But Peacock, who made his debut in the Rockhampton Cricket Association A-grade competition when he was just 16, is looking forward to turning the tables against Gladstone.

Peacock is enjoying the extra responsibility at club level this season after grabbing the Norths captaincy with both hands at the start of the PFD Cup.

The skipper's role is not new to Peacock who captained the CQU Norths Chargers reserve grade rugby league team during the winter.

aIt's probably made it a bit easier (captaining the Chargers) but it's a bit different too, like trying to set fields all the time and thinking on the run,a he said. …
