DENA Domas, of Rockhampton, who has diabetes, has discovered a whole new way of preparing healthy meals for her family.
She was one of 10 representatives from indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities to participate in a special cooking course at Central Queensland Institute of TAFE's Rockhampton campus on February 27.
Dena said she found the course very helpful.
C[pounds sterling]I have diabetes and I needed to learn how to cook quick and healthy meals,C[yen] she said.
C[pounds sterling]I work in the health (sector), so it was important for me to set a healthy example Co and for my daughter as well.
C[pounds sterling]I learned a lot of new things about cooking,C[yen] Dena said.
