History of Gangs May Be Showcased in Museum

CITY gangs could have their own place in the city's history if a group of graduate students have their way.

Three graduate students from the Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development believe that a museum showcasing the history of gangs in Cape Town is a good idea - and the first of its kind in the country.

It will be modelled after Chicago's "Mob Museum".

A project manager, Siyabulela Daweti, said gangs were a vital part of South African history, especially in the Western Cape. "Our aim is to educate parents about what being in a gang involves and to show children the consequences," he said, adding: "We will showcase the lives of some of the …
