WALES needs an independent panel to monitor the health of the nation's media, a cross-party group of AMs will report today.
They will call for a panel to advise on "sustainable" policies to safeguard the Welsh media.
The group, set up by the Assembly's communities, equality and local government committee, wants the panel to investigate the devolution of powers over broadcasting to Wales and how print-based media can go forward.
The four-person "task and finish" group recommends that the Welsh Government commissions a review which would identify the forms of media used by people across the country.
