ARSENE WENGER has tied up deals to keep Arsenal's British talent - and also held peace talks with Theo Walcott.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs have agreed new contracts while Jack Wilshere has admitted he will sign a bumper new five-year deal.
But Mirror Sport can reveal England star Walcott (right) held talks with Wenger last week to try to resolve his future and the Gunners boss responded by playing him up front in Arsenal's next match at Reading on Monday night.
That now looks to have been Wenger's way of offering Walcott an olive branch in a bid to persuade the winger to re-open contract talks and commit himself to a new deal.
Walcott, 23, was left frustrated and upset after being frozen out for weeks following the breakdown of talks over a new PS75,000-a-week deal.
It left him concerned about his long-term future at Arsenal, despite consistently saying he wants to stay at the Emirates.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have been tracking Walcott but the Gunners are hoping they can persuade him to stay, even though it is unlikely to be resolved quickly.
