Illegal Videotaping

MANILA, Philippines --- A Quezon City (QC)-based businessman was charged with violating Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 by his woman business partner after it was discovered he allegedly videotaped her taking a bath in the businessman's residence in Cubao, QC.

Charged was Benigno Ramirez, a resident of 1785 E. Rodriguez Ave., Cubao, Quezon City, along with Raymundo Tarol of Sampaloc, Manila and several "John Does" for allegedly conspiring in committing acts of video voyeurism in both the residence and offices of Ramirez.

The case against Ramirez was filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office, docketed 13A-000101. Ramirez is said to be a prominent businessman from Tuguegarao City.

The complainant, Amelia Yu (not her real name), a resident of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, claimed she was invited by Ramirez, her business partner, to sleep over in the latter's Cubao townhouse on two occasions sometime in May, 2011 before and after a business trip to Koronadal City.

In her affidavit, Yu claimed she acceded to sleep in the master bedroom of Ramirez' townhouse before her trip to Koronadal City, but only used the bathroom to brush her teeth. …
