COTABATO CITY - Government and private sectors are jointly poised to showcase anew the colorful culture and traditions in Maguindanao through the second episode of the Sagayan Festival that will be held from February 10 to 14, preparing this time more illustrious activities amid confirmed attendance of national and foreign dignitaries including no less than President Aquino.
Organizers said they have lined up more colorful presentations for the 2nd Sagayan Festival in a bid to pursue the provincial government's aggressive drive for enhanced ecotourism promotion meant to showcase local potentials dwarfed by the effects of the infamous 2009 massacre of 58 people including journalists in Maguindanao.
They said Maguindanao Governor Esmael Mangudadatu, who lost his wife and several relatives in the carnage, had formed various executive committees including the media to further foster a better image for his province through the conduct of annual festival that started last year.
All festivities are slated anew in Buluan town, the transitional capital of Maguindanao where the 1st Sagayan Festival mustered an unprecedented convergence of participant and guests from within and outside the province last year. …
