A HOUSEHOLDER is to be tried in court over a bizarre brush with the law - when she painted a small fence.
Police quizzed Lyndsey Gagrica after her neighbours complained when she whitewashed her side of 3ft-high wooden panels that separate their two homes.
Angry Sue and Derek Ward, both 59, reported her to officers and Mrs Gagrica, 34, later received a letter charging her with criminal damage.
The Wards had got planning permission to erect the fence in the front garden of their semi-detached property in Carlton, Nottinghamshire.
The couple, who have lived there for 25 years, paid PS80 for the panels and PS172 to the council in planning application charges. But Mrs Gagrica, who has lived next door to the Wards for 13 years, decided to brighten up her side in February. She said: "They wouldn't be able to see anything on my side. I don't understand how it could be criminal damage. …
