The Riverside Fine Arts Series is observing Martin Luther King
Jr.'s birthday Tuesday. by expanding to allow more than 1,000
schoolchildren to attend a chamber music and drama program
focused on the Harlem Renaissance.
The fine arts series' third concert of the season features the
Core Ensemble chamber music trio of Lake Worth and solo actor
In addition to the 7:30 p.m. concert Tuesday, the series is
admitting students from various Jacksonville high schools and
middle schools to two free abbreviated afternoon programs at the
Church of the Good Shepherd, 1100 Stockton St.
"We are doing this in honor of Martin Luther King Day," said
Lorraine Roettges, executive director of the fine arts series.
The slain civil rights leader's birthday was Thursday. The
Martin Luther King Day observance is tomorrow.
