A seminar on the sexual politics of disability planned by Birmingham City Council was condemned as loony left political correctness last night.
But the event was defended by the city's equalities experts as a way of ensuring the council talks to local people about "key issues".
The free lunchtime seminar - entitled Disability and Sexuality - will be staged on June 29 by the authority's equalities division and includes a light vegetarian lunch for those who attend.
The last in a series of four talks for the disabled organised by the division, it promises to explore "issues for disabled people around sexuality and sexual politics".
