Tragic police girl Nina Mackay was in love with a married colleague, it was revealed yesterday.
Her secret boyfriend, Pc Andy Petty, 29, was a pallbearer at her funeral this week.
Andy's 28-year-old wife Tracey is seeking a divorce on the grounds of his adultery.
If he contests the action Nina, stabbed to death two weeks ago, will be named as the other woman.
Assistant bank manager Tracey has left their flat in Leytonstone, east London, and is living with her parents 250 miles away on Teesside.
Confirming that her three-year marriage is on the rocks, she said yesterday: "Naturally I am very distressed about it. But my solicitor has advised me to make no comment."
Last night Nina's heartbroken father Sidney Mackay said: "I wouldn't want my daughter to be branded a marriage-breaker - she wasn't.

"He had separated from his wife before their relationship began.
"I know people are beginning to learn of the relationship, but it wasn't an overpowering love affair.
"She said Andy wasn't looking for commitment - and she wasn't either."
Mr Mackay, 54, a retired police chief superintendent, added: "I haven't said anything about this before now because I wanted to protect Andy.
"He was absolutely gutted by Nina's death but made the brave decision to help carry her coffin at the funeral."
Fighting back tears, Mr Mackay added: "Nina had introduced Andy to us.
"She was an attractive girl and very popular. There have been a stream of people, including ex-boyfriends, standing on our doorstep in the last few days in floods of tears."
Nina and Andy took Mr Mackay and his wife Patricia out to dinner the night before the WPC died. …
