Final call for $5 flu shots in Elk Grove Village
For those Elk Grove Village residents who have been procrastinating getting a flu shot, time is running out.
The Elk Grove Village Health Department ends its series of flu clinics Thursday.
Flu shots cost $5, and residents 65 years old and older must bring their Medicare cards for special billing.
Billing for HMO, PPO or other insurance will not be performed.
On Thursday, flu shots will be available at the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Seminar to teach employees better communication skills
Employees and employers can learn how to improve workplace communication today at a seminar sponsored by the Greater O'Hare Association of Industry and Commerce.
Topics will include aspects of effective communication, factors leading to miscommunication, positive listening skills, ways to communicate with difficult people and ways that skills can help people be productive on the job.
Cheri Seley, representative of Kenneth Young Centers, will be on hand, as well as officials of Workplace Solutions, a Chicago-based Employee Assistance Program.
Seley is cordinator of corporate relations and training for the Kenneth Young. She has a masters degree in psychology and 18 years of experience as a psychotherapist.
The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at the Greater O'Hare Conference Room, 1050 Busse Road in Bensenville.
