It has taken longer than anticipated to get a youth peer jury program up and running in Roselle and Itasca.
The two communities are having difficulty finding two volunteer coordinators who can commit the time needed to get the jury program for teenagers started, officials say.
Three coordinators who volunteered for the job later resigned because of the amount of work involved, Roselle Police Chief Richard Eddington said.
The Itasca Youth Committee, which is spearheading the search for coordinators, recently interviewed three more candidates from Roselle, Eddington said.
