LeGrand J. "Lee" Field Jr.

Services for LeGrand J. "Lee" Field Jr., 78, of The Holmstad in Batavia, formerly of North Aurora and Hazel Crest, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia. The Rev. Maureen Van Heerden will officiate.

He was born May 11, 1917, in Chicago, the son of LeGrand J., Sr. and Hulda (Larson) Field.

Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.

He died Saturday, May 4, at Michealsen Health Center, Batavia.

Mr. Field was a 1935 graduate of Lindbloom Technical High School, Chicago. He attended Augustana College prior to entering the Army Air Corps, where he was stationed in England during World War II. After the war, he worked for his uncle's company, Byron Field Co. He later worked for Johnson & Johnson before entering into sales for the Harry Pascoe Co. He later became a specification writer for Lester B. Knight Architecture Engineers prior to working at Skidmore, Owings, Merrill Co.

He was a member of the "Over 60 Club", and The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard. He enjoyed aviation, golf, wood carving, and being a grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his daughters, Patricia (Gregory) Doerfler, of Wheaton, and Esther (Michael Bachrodt, of Huntley; his sons, Al Schuh, of Hoffman Estates, Donald (Diane) Field, of Naperville, and James (Patricia) Field, of Richfield, Minn.; his brother Vernon (Frances) Field, of Marietta, Ga.; his sister, Audrey (Edwin) Lindberg, of Chicago Ridge; 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorris M. (nee Sundahl) Field in 1966, whom he married May 11, 1947, in Chicago; his second wife, Lucille M. (nee Schuh) Field in 1995, whom he married on Aug. 3, 1968, in Chicago; his brother William Field, and his granddaughter, Christine Doerfler.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the funeral home.

Charles E. "Charlie" Reese

A memorial reception for Charles E. "Charlie" Reese, of West Chicago, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the West Chicago American Legion Post #300, 123 Main St., West Chicago.

He died Saturday, May 4, at Central DuPage Hospital.

Mr. Reese was a retired crew leader for NiGas. …
