Concerns of Residents Put Knox Park Plans on Hold

Cedar Creek subdivision residents have prompted Lake Zurich to delay proposed changes to Knox Park.

Plans for a hiking trail, added park benches and bleachers for the football field are on hold for at least a month to allow more time for residents to review the project.

The Lake Zurich Village Board delayed plans brought forward by Ela Township Supervisor Robert L. Grever amid residents' concerns.

Grever expects to schedule a meeting later this month to address Knox Park issues from nearby residents.

Denny Lessard, a Cedar Creek Drive homeowner who lives behind Knox Park, has a list of numerous concerns relating to safety and traffic through the park, located south of Route 22.

"I would hate to see injuries from the trail in any way shape or form," Lessard said.

Lessard's home also is on the property line of a proposed walkway from the subdivision into the park.

Children already push bicycles and things through the area where the walkway would exist. …
