More than 3,500 women are invited to share a weekend of laughter and inspiration when four well-known Christian authors tell their humorous stories, personal triumphs and secrets for living a happy life.
"Women of Faith Present The Joyful Journey" will be held Friday and Saturday at Calvary Church in Naperville, 9S200 Route 59.
The event is part of a seven-city national tour sponsored by Minirth-Meier, a Christian-based clinic with locations throughout the country.
"This will be a weekend of laughter and experiences of what we all go through in life," said Joan Blank, president of the women's ministries at Calvary Church. "The goal of Minirth-Meier is to help Christian women find joy in life and in the journey. They wanted to bring healing to women."
The conference will feature four women authors: Patsy Clairmont, Barbara Johnson, Marilyn Meberg and Lucy Swindoll.
"They are gallant women and very down to earth," Blank said. "It will be wonderful because they have experienced so many things themselves and have climbed to the top of the mountain."
Clairmont, author of "God Uses Cracked Pots" and several other humorous books, has suffered from acrophobia and shares how she has found strength. …
