The 12th Annual Hoffman Estates male beauty pageant raised the heartbeats of a mostly-female audience, and more than $1,000 for the high school's theater department.
Hoffman Estates High School students vying for the title of Mr. Hoffman Hawk were judged in four categories: jam wear, which includes beach and summer attire; tuxedo; question and answer; and talent.
The title of Mr. Hoffman Hawk was awarded this year to Mike Victor.
During the talent category, contestants exhibited their dancing, singing and comedic skills, hoping to win their way into the hearts of judges and the screaming high school girls.
"The screaming girls - that was real nice," said first runner-up Jared Erlenbaugh, a Hoffman Estates High School junior.
Junior Jonathan Flowers, second runner-up, said he agreed the fawning girls were "definitely" the best part of his experience as a contestant.
